“An Important message to all members”
March 17th, 2020:
As of this morning, the Government of Ontario declared a state of emergency. Our facility falls under the category of mandatory closures. Our volunteer board members are conducting email votes to try and resolve several issues, so please be patient as we are dealing with an unprecedented issue. WE WILL NOT BE PROCESSING MONTHLY PAYMENTS for the month of March for those members who pay monthly. The situation is changing hourly, we are trying our best to stay on top of it. Thank you!
March 14th, 2020:
In view of the situation that has transpired around the outbreak of the COVID-19 Virus, and its proliferation globally, our two Boards met this morning to discuss this virus outbreak. It is now virtually on our own doorstep, and at this point in time, shows no signs of mitigation.
We know that this virus is quite contagious, and we have been warned about the hazard of being in large groups during this period of the outbreak.
The Boards have therefore passed the following action items in order to protect the health and safety of all our members:
- As of 8 p.m. today March 14, 2020 the entry doors to the club will be locked to all members, and signs posted. Entry cards will no longer allow access to the building.
- Should you need retrieve any items from the building, please contact Rachel, and she will assist you with this. (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) Mon.-Fri 705-653-4433.
- The Boards will meet again on Saturday April 4th to review the COVID- 19 situation and plan what action to take moving forward.
- The ice plant will be shut down this weekend.
The Boards feel that these actions are in the best interest of all our members, and are being paralleled across the province.
Regrettably, our curling and squash seasons are being terminated early, and the daily routine for those who use our fitness equipment will endure an unplanned respite. However; we feel these are necessary steps to avoid spreading this illness further in our community, and we want you, our members, to remain healthy.
Your patience and cooperation will be much appreciated.
