Christmas Message from CDCRC President Dave Martz

On behalf of the CDCRC I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year. Although you might not have seen much going on, there has been quite a bit happening since September. We have recently been awarded a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation of $114,000 to pay for the accessibility work at the club, including a new washroom. This was achieved because of a lot of hard work from Carol Currelly-Burnham. When you see Carol give her a "way to go" 'cause she deserves it.

We have been running some fundraisers as well. Hoards Station lunch headed up by Eunice Stapley. Farmers curling bonspiel headed up by Ken McCulloch and Nan MacDougall. "The Sal" bonspiel spearheaded by Carol and her committee of: Ken Alton, Eunice Stapley, Judy Pearce, Sandy Chapman, Debbie Reid and Debbie Samoy, and the Baby Boomers Spiel headed by Eunice Stapley and myself. We will also be running a New Years Eve party headed up by Nancy West.

We will be having an addition to the club that I am excited about. Hopefully between Christmas and New Years the steam room should be up and running. This will be done with the work of Mike Layton and Ben McKeown. We will have to close the ladies locker room for a couple of hours while the work is being done, but will try and give as much notice as possible. When you see any of these folks, don't forget to say thanks.

There are a lot of things happening in the New Year as well, so get involved! You might surprise yourself and have some fun while making our club even better!
